Thank you so much, Valarie, for both your kind words and for the link to Ayn Cates Sullivan's beautiful story. It gave me chills as I read it--so powerful and affirming. I have not heard the term "spirit midwife" before Sullivan's essay, but it is such a lovely concept that I am going to make a point to learn more about it. Thank you again for your comments! ~Sarah

What a powerful story of strength and intuitive listening. Although it is not every woman's path to deliver a breech baby, to make the brave decision to march down that path while so many have doubts and judgment is a courageous thing to do for yourself and your baby.
Ayn Cates Sullivan shares her inspirational experience delivering a breech baby naturally with the help of a spirit midwife and her own true intuition and Light.
I have a feeling you will enjoy and relate to this!
Congratulations on your strength and your baby!

Hi, Lynne--isn't it AMAZING what our bodies were created to do? And, as you said, especially with the /right support/. I hope more of us with breech births will continue to tell our stories so we can balance out some of the negative press a vaginal breech birth gets. I'm so glad you had a wonderful birth experience, too :)

This wonderful story has so many echoes of my own first breech baby. Doing the research, doing all the things to get the baby to turn, then letting go and trusting the natural birth process. It is amazing what we can do with the right support. It makes me sad when I hear women say that they wanted to have a natural breech birth and couldn't because there was nobody supporting their choice!
